“Learn from Home” is a particular component of the One-Stop-Shop (OSS) website (run during late-March to mid-April of 2022), the time when Hong Kong was raided by the fifth wave of the pandemic. At that time, the IH was in the process of its construction, and the OSS website was inspired by the idea of the IH so to speak – making best use of IT and e-education platforms for curricula introduction and promotion. OSS was a product from a group of current and retired staff, students, and alumni of APSS with the help of a group of slashers (in the fields of computing, design, and cultural studies) for IT and content support. OSS wants to share with the public how the Department could walk and work with the community in a fast-pace mood, and in this “Learn from Home” component, the idea is to engage with DES candidates so that they could know how different social science disciplines (gerontology, psychology, social policy and social enterprises, social work, and sociology) could relate with the real world in fighting against the pandemic that has changed the life of all in the past two years. This design has been well received and applauded from school principals.
