This project investigated the potential of immersive learning to enhance mental health education. The pilot incorporated 360-degree videos showcasing the experiences of individuals with dementia, depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia into two PolyU courses.
Students observed these first-person perspectives, fostering a deeper understanding of how mental health conditions manifest in daily life. The 360-degree format provided insights into the impact of surrounding environments.
While initial results are promising, limitations include the availability of culturally relevant content and technical hurdles. Future efforts will focus on refining this approach and co-creating content that reflects the local Hong Kong context.
