June 23, 2022“Social” Entrepreneurship for Community Building: a pilot project in nurturing APSS students as social entrepreneur
The present proposal aims at piloting a student sponsoring scheme on social entrepreneurship with integration of design thinking education and community partnership. The project gets 3 phrases and will be extended for 12 months by mentoring and coaching two student teams for conducting need/asset assessment, proposal ideation in collaborating with local community organizations and private funders.
The specific objectives of the proposed student sponsoring scheme are three folds:
1) Cultivate and nurture the social entrepreneurship of the APSS students so as to re-orientate their university learning and career goals
2) Develop and mobilize the interdisciplinary competency with focus on the utilization of discipline specific skills and cross-discipline design thinking and social innovation.
3) Collaborate and co-create with service users, community partners and private funders to serve the community and innovate for social good
